I’ve been working on my second human portrait. This time it’s Angelina Jolie in graphite. I think it’s largely finished, but I may end up adding a bit more detail or increasing the contrast in places. I’m not a fan of Angelina Jolie – I can only name one movie she featured in – but I came across a photo that I thought lent itself to this kind of drawing. This piece was drawn in graphite and the dark areas were drawn with pencils with a high proportion of carbon to avoid the ‘shine’ that can occur from too much graphite.

I'm currently working on this drawing of a Eurasian Lynx. I'm using Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils on pastelmat paper again. There's still work to do on what I've already drawn before I move on to the rest, but I'm looking forward to reaching the longer haired sections of fur.
