
I’m happy with the performance of the website. It’s been consistent, stable and fast since the re-write of the site (once a decent new host was found). There’s always room for improving the speed of page load times though, especially with fairly media-rich pages such as mine. I’ve applied extra compression to some graphic assets that are commonly used on the site, removed some unutilised javascript, and applied Brotli compression to the entire site, that final step most likely having the largest noticeable effect on page load times.
GTMetrix scores have increased as a result too…

BUT – as much as I’ve tested things since making these most recent changes, it’s possible that I’ve inadvertently introduced a bug somewhere. If you happen to come across something, please let me know 😀.
