Following the latest (and hopefully final!) server migration, things were looking good. That was until I started to do some testing of purchasing products, and everything went wrong. To cut a very long story short, a day of progress was lost in trying to find the cause of a bug which repeatedly brought down the entire website for all visitors. It took me a long time to figure out that an errant file was being created by a certain trigger, and that the mere presence of the file was enough to render the whole site incapable of working. If I’m to be completely honest, I still haven’t isolated the exact reason for this file being created, but I think I’ve satisfied myself that the trigger is one that only I am capable of inadvertently instigating and that visitors to the site will not be a cause in the future. Hopefully, after a few days of frustration, errors and server moves, I am now in a position to carry on developing the site. Again!
